what about after 50 years? It is said that horses should not be given old straw, it will fall in dust and it will cause them to suffer. So should you shave the house every 10 years to change the straw?

Here is an answer:

In France, the engineer Feuillette carried out some constructions based on straw at the beginning of the XXth century. It is in Montargis that we find the oldest straw house: still inhabited and in very good condition, it dates from 1921.

For my part, I never tire of a superb Austrian site which combines the straw bale construction technique and the principles of the passive house. I made a little topo: http://maison.passive.free.fr/?p=19

What about buildings?

by osprey » 16/11/06, 10:32

There are already quite a few solutions for building passive houses. On the other hand, what about the houses already built, and which one would like to arrange / modify so that they consume less? (I imagine that the installation of insulating windows is a first step, low consumption bulbs ...)

In the same vein, are there ways to furnish your apartment when (like me) you live in an old Parisian building? I think it's very important, because more and more people live in urban areas. It is also time for property developers to think about building green buildings. The demand is there.

Very good but a pity that it is necessary to make a press article for each house ...

So don't do the opposite: a press article for anti-ecological renovations and construction? Style houses at 100 € in prefabricated and all other new constructions that are at the limit of standards ...

I bet it will make things happen more! : Cheesy:

Bonsoir
My first post here!
I'm starting to seriously think about building and the passive, I like it. But as there are currently only a few people doing this in France, I tell myself that it would not be bad to launch a post to discuss technical solutions, the practical side not being too detailed I find on the sites of reference in the matter.
So I'm asking if there are any people interested here to discuss this with me :D

Interested, surely, but sufficiently calibrated in this area to bring you solutions it will be more rare.

it goes without saying! even if, as the woodcutter says, we are not necessarily competent in the field. But who really is, in France at least. So let's discuss, bring our info.
