Good evening Remundo,

just to tell you that I am regularly this topic, but unfortunately I have not much to contribute! My vehicle is today one of the simplest (Clio 1,2 gasoline), and it provides me with a lot of space while being relatively sober. And it is not today that I will discover myself a passionate mechanic's soul (even if I have repaired my cars a number of years).

But hybridization in a general way (including for example in heating) seems to me really a way to progress concretely.
So congratulations for your experiences!

* each recharge saves approximately:
45 km * 6L / 100km * 1.39 € / L = 3.75 € of SP95-98,
* it consumes 8 kWh at the socket, about 1 €
* 100 refills per year (4000-4500 km in electric mode) give about 275 € winnings.

The last full of E85: 2000 km traveled, 2L / 100 km
with another 45 km of reserve (20 km E85 + 25 km electricity)

Consumption:
* Fuel: 2,0 L / 100 km

Actual costs for 100 km:
* Fuel: 2,0 L / 100 km x 0.55 € / L = 1.10 €

winter consumption on an unusually long journey (146 km), some heating / de-icing and cold batteries (0-3 ° C), but fully loaded before departure.

Fuel cost: 5.3 L / 100km x 0.55 € / L = 2.91 € / 100 km
Electricity cost: 3.5 kWh / 100km x 0.15 € / kWh = 0.53 € / 100 km
Total cost: 3.44 € / 100 km

Cost of the trip: 3.44 € / 100 km x 146 km = 5.02 €

estimated conso in any thermal scenario between 6.5 and 7L / 100 km of E85

another winter consumption on a route of unusual length (321 km), some heating / defrosting and cold batteries (0-5 ° C), but fully loaded before departure.

Fuel cost: 5.6 L / 100km x 0.55 € / L = 3.08 € / 100 km
Electricity cost: 1.3 kWh / 100km x 0.15 € / kWh = 0.20 € / 100 km
Total cost: 3.28 € / 100 km

Cost of the trip: 3.28 € / 100 km x 321 km = 10.53 €

estimated conso in any thermal scenario around 6.2 L / 100 km of E85.

Note: On this longer trip where the engine has been warm for a long time, we finally have a better conso / 100km (because the period of overonso cold engine is more negligible). Interesting to notice.

How many GTE85 + can we supply in E85 with 1% of cultivable areas in France?

Image

the question is crucial between 2 Christmas ethanol glasses at New Year's Eve ...

We can resume temperately some calculations; the answer is 4,5 million.

to compare with the 38 million passenger cars and light commercial vehicles <5 tonnes in France.

However, ethanol from the gasification of biomass should also be promoted.

Details in the GTE85 + FAQ of 15 / 12 / 2017

Sycamoree News and wishes 2018.

Hello all,

First, we introduce you our best wishes 2018; This new year brings success to your personal and professional projects with good health for you and your loved ones.

Since 1 year, Sycomoreen has invested in the creation of the Golf GTE85 PLUS, rechargeable hybrid car powered by Agroethanol (E85) and photovoltaic electricity. This vehicle is a prototype developed from the Volkswagen Golf GTE model and the results are excellent on 23000 km traveled:
* 2,5 L / 100km of E85 and 8,5 kWh / 100km of electricity
* CO2 emissions divided by 8
* kilometric costs divided by 4

We invite you to see a short video (3 minutes) that summarizes the project.

SYCOMOREEN was also interested the agricultural impacts of such a vehicle. Thanks to the hybridization, the consumption of E85 is very moderate and the cultivation of only 500 m² of beets in France is sufficient for the needs of GTE85 + every year.

Urban artist the latest techniques for the synthesis of methanol and ethanol from organic waste seem promising to no longer compete with food crops.

The innovative Golf GTE85 + and the research mentioned thus foreshadow what should be the transport paradigms in the 21st century : combine the best of internal combustion engines and electric propulsion, while erasing their disadvantages, without forgetting (most importantly!) to direct the energy mix on renewable and complementary productions.

The last cycle on 100h driving (winter period) with the GOLF GTE85 PLUS

Image

Consumption:
* Fuel: 2,8 L / 100 km
* Electricity: 8.6 kWh / 100 km

Actual costs for 100 km:
* Fuel: 2,8 L / 100 km x 0.56 € / L = 1.57 €
* Electricity: 8.6 kWh x 0.15 € / kWh = 1.29 €
Total: 2,86 € / 100 km

Actual consumption for 100 km:
* in all thermal: 7 L / 100 km
* In all electric: 17 kWh / 100 km

Financial savings realized, in comparison with SP95 use at 1,45 € / L at 6L / 100km
(1.45 € / L x 6 L / 100km - 2.86 € / 100km)
X 5465 km = 319.16 €

CO2 emissions: reduction of about 5 factor.

The results on the last (and fifth) cycle of 100h driving:

Image

5143 km traveled with only 2,6 L / 100 km from E85 (E70).

Consumption:
* Fuel: 2,6 L / 100 km
* Electricity: 7.9 kWh / 100 km

Actual costs for 100 km:
* Fuel: 2,6 L / 100 km x 0.58 € / L = 1.51 €
* Electricity: 7,9 kWh x 0.15 € / kWh = 1.19 €
Total: 2,70 € / 100 km

Financial economy, compared to the conventional SP95 1,50 € / L for 6 L / 100km:
(1.50 € / L x 6 L / 100km - 2.70 € / 100km)
X 5143 km = 324.01 €

CO2 emissions: reduction by a factor of about 5
