Indeed, it makes these antiques dream. We see that all these engines have a family resemblance. It remains to be seen how many of them use an addition of water ...

I finally finished the article which summarizes what I could learn from the engine. A big thank you to Mr. Bailly for his speed in providing photos and info. He spared no effort.

The article can be read in pdf at Quanthomme directly or on the forum

Good reading.

Your article is great and the restoration magnificent ...

From my side I got this:

https://www.econologie.com/fichiers/partager/PICT0013.JPG
https://www.econologie.com/fichiers/partager/PICT0014.JPG

Normally the colleague should make me some close-ups this weekend of the water supply part and try to find me a doc or plan something on the operation.

The regulation / control of the quantities of water injected ... is done entirely by hand, feeling with a small tap.

This model resembles the one that was shooting at La Ferté Allais, with its candle at the end of the cylinder head.

Will your college disassemble the mixer? This is where there are certainly ideas to (re) take to homogenize the air-water-fuel mixture ...

And if you can get diagrams, it would be great!

Hello Crispus

The colleague provided me with pretty photos:

https://www.econologie.com/fichiers/partager/gast1.jpg
https://www.econologie.com/fichiers/partager/gast2.JPG
https://www.econologie.com/fichiers/partager/gast3.jpg

https://www.econologie.com/fichiers/partager/gast6.JPG
https://www.econologie.com/fichiers/partager/gast7.JPG

gast1: top view of the mixer.
gast2: GAS wheel = air
gast3: WAT wheel = WATER
gast4: KER wheel = kerozene
gast5: nameplate on which the brand can be read:
INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER CO Chicago ILL
gast6 and gast7: side view showing fuel arrivals.

Unfortunately I have not managed to find a diagram or an explanation of the operation. One day I would find the time to go and browse and find the restorer of the Beast.

Crispus wrote:Hello everybody

A Quanthomme reader has just informed me that this engine (or a very similar model) was present at the Fête de la locomotion at la Ferté Allais (91) 2 years ago.

There is a good chance that it will be presented again (and probably in operation) this weekend of June 9-10, 2007.

For my part I am not available, but if among the Ile-de-France some could move:

To see the poster

Read the program in PDF

It would be necessary to browse on the side of agricultural machinery, this engine probably driving a sawmill machine.

Good weekend to the lucky ones who can go there ...

It's stupid, I live right next door!
I didn't even know there was this type of demo up there
not seen a single poster

Bonjour à tous

About old machines, water vapor, and re-invented inventions:

Found in my archives "Engineer's Notes and Formulas" 1920 edition!

https://www.econologie.com/fichiers/partager/Banki.bmp

I'm looking for Banki engine on the Internet, I find a nugget: : Cheesy:

http://cnum.cnam.fr/ILL/8XAE568.2.html

Among others, look at the Japy petrol engine (p61), there is fuel flame heating which makes one think of various assemblies (Mr David, André etc ...)
