Super Carburettor Pogue (Nelson) of 1930

Tips, advice and tips to lower your consumption, processes or inventions as unconventional engines: the Stirling engine, for example. Patents improving combustion: water injection plasma treatment, ionization of the fuel or oxidizer.

No, because lead has been replaced by benzene ...

Really? Benzene do you say

For the super "lead" I thought we had replaced the lead by potassium ...

... But for the SP95, I did not know.

I already knew this fascinating info on POGUES, but I had not noticed the similarities with the pantone, or better, with the patents of Jean CHAMBRIN. :P:

It would therefore appear that the addition of lead in petrol was intended to make us consume more. :?: Another big scandal?

Hello
I don't think lead was added because of the Pogue carburetor
is that at that time the fuel was unstable and rather different depending on the sources of supply on 80/87 octane
was aviation fuel, the engines had compression rates 6 and even less or the low efficiency.
I have old mechanical books where he explains how to check the quality of the fuels, the sulfur content, the point of lighting up the scrub residue in a very traditional way, which proves that there was actually a supply problem. in uniform fuel, it is interesting to see how at that time the mechanics were taught and the methods of measurement on the internal pressures of the engines, he knew how to make the diagram of the pressures with a light beams and mirror to operate by the internal pressure of the engine on a motor wax paper running it was their oscilloscope. the book dates from the years 1927

The main additives that have tried
The motyl based on cabonyle iron (I suspect that this is what has in the 100LL to see the metallic pellets in the candles)
Tetraryl lead
ethyl iodide
tin tetratyle
the aniline
now it turns to benzol (which is in my opinion as harmful as lead) it is the german who used it the most during the last war produced in coking plants
Ethyl alcohol
Ethyl fluid
All these products have for reason to increase the detonating power of fuels, and the compression rate, although the design of the engine cylinder head half valve in head aluminum cylinder head played a big role to be able to have compression rates of 10 and even more on some special engines.

Christophe hat for your doc! and also for your synthesis, more affordable for me.
So no good idea to recover from these patents ??

Thank you to you too André for your history: a real well of knowledge. When will an econology charter go to visit our Quebecer? it would be nice no : Lol:

Tsss tsss a charter not very economical : roll:
What do you think of a good old galley where each Ecotourist could provide the energy to move forward, with the mods taking turns on the drum and Christophe at the helm? : Mrgreen:

OK for the hassle, but chained, or not chained?

There is more chance yes ... but the principle of this fuel is not (that) to heat and volatilize the fuel but also to crack it.

Ethanol (C2H5OH) is already much simpler (in number of carbon atoms and molecular structure) than gasoline (assimilated to C8H18 octane or C7H16 heptane but in reality, current gasoline, is a mixture 130 more or less heavy compounds ...).

So at best we can hope to obtain methanol (CH3OH) or another very light product ... beware of engine temperatures reached with such light fuels ...
