In the instructions of the ZX there is no consumption.
In general I am rather someone who consumes can with a car ... My zx was a first hand. The former owner kept a logbook with all the refills since 1995 as well as all the interventions made on the car. He drove rather big daddy ... Even on a long journey he never went below 6 liters either ...
My opinion on the additive C99 Mecarun (it works!)

Add an additive?
The cheapest (!) And probably (?) Most effective:
- add 5% of super 95 petrol to a full tank of diesel.
- add ~ 60ml of acetone to a full tank of gasoline.
...and especially:
- use the means of transport best suited to what you want to do, for example do not take the car to go three streets further, take the bike!
- use a GPS and combine several races in the same trip. etc.

I have a ZX Diesel without turbo, 1,9 l (I believe for the displacement).
I have had it for 4-5 years and I use it 3-4 times a year. I never exceeded 5 l except when I tow a trailer. I'm still around 4,5 l, sometimes around 4l. With a fairly economical driving, nothing more. In any case, having a sporty drive with a ZX doesn't mean much ...
But I have friends who have a ZX diesel station wagon that consumes more, around 6l. It has additional gadgets, assisted driving, air conditioning but never used, etc ... Perhaps this is the explanation.
In any case, I am still as desperate to see the consumption on modern cars. With the exception of the Smart in some models which consume 3,3 l (but for 2 places), all the others or almost are beyond the 4 l see very beyond ...
My ZX dates from 94, was designed in the 80s. In 20-30 years, no progress on the consumption side?
Even hybrids, starting with the Toyota Prius, are around 6 l in real consumption (cf. forums users). What is the interest of the hybrid to achieve higher consumption than a 2001 Laguna II diesel which consumes between 5l and 5,4l (see that of my parents)? If not for the image of the brand ...

part of the problem is that many have become heavier because of comfort and safety and more powerful, notably thanks to the management of the injection.
There is still progress: my brother made 3,7 l on BXL-Venice in 2008 on a diesel polo shirt with 4 people on board.
For the same vehicle, we changed the engine of my 1997 partner: I went from 7,5-8 lites to 7,1-7,2. (ts both 1,9 liters atmos, but the new one is more recent: we see that details have changed.)
As for petrol cars, we know why: they consume more (6 liters Datsun 120 A in 1977), but produce less NO2 and CO and are much more powerful.
The cars are heavier (my golf 1 weighed 850 kg), but rust less quickly, therefore last longer, are more spacious, safer and more comfortable.

I do not have a Prius and it is therefore not from personal experience but I was interested in the subject a few months ago and can be found on various forums average consumption between 5 and 6 l, a priori without driving sprotive, but it is not me who drives.

For example.
Some drinks are occasionally below 5l, but apparently more exceptionally.

... Has anyone tried the Kip Kay stuff? Because, what it offers to reduce consumption, it works!
Other than that, if you don't try, either the S95 (for diesel) or acetone (for petrol) how can you be so categorical?
Because to obtain a convincing result, it must also be tested with cheaper fuels!

To recognize Spam, there is also the classic "it works" in the title.
Hey, when we type "econology forum"in google on the first page we come across a post where the guy complains about having moderated his posts several times ... obviously for no reason ... You are really too mean on this forum!!!
To come back to the post:
Personally, with the same Zx station wagon diesel atmo, my father on 200 kms averaged around 000 - 5,6 l per 5,5.
A friend with the same engine but in sedan also arrived at 5,5 l per 100 over several months, he changed everything (drain - air filter and c) and put meca ... 5,5 l trick and result to 100 alike.
So it's spam in my opinion ...

So I would like to know why there is such an important difference between the classic ZX D and the station wagons. I have two couples of friends who have a station wagon and they both consume around 6l or a little more.
The body does not justify as much difference. There are more options, etc, but they don't use air conditioning.
