Yes, I know ... but it was before 2007, since then, this problem is in principle solved
However, it is better to dismantle the admission every 100 km, in case

OUCH, OUILLE, OUCH, AAHH! ^ _ ^

Without going into mileage considerations, the Vel Satis is an essence, right?
So less soot produced, therefore reduced fouling (am I good?)
I do not have a recent vehicle, but even if this problem seems to have been solved since 2007, disassembly every 100.000, for me the system is messed up.
Edit: By the way, I know that nobody believes it, but I had a Passat (tdi 90 cv 1Z engine) on which I had mounted a magnet (I no longer have the brand, but at the time that had not cost me a lot, the guy would reimburse me if not satisfied) and the computer gave me a consumption down 10%, confirmed at the pump and the mileage performed.
Nothing else changed, same fuel, same oil, same tire pressure checked often, same routes, same load, I would point out that at the time I was shooting as a commercial, all over the South, and that these consos remained stable over 2 years at more than 60.000 km per year.

Once again, none of these tests is credible without a double blind procedure! The driver must not know if the system is in place and must not refuel himself!

No, you’re all wrong !!, this is the last Nissan 2.0 DCI FAP engine with revised timing and internal aerodynamics

No more than a drain or a change of timing belt ...

It's funny, but all the magnets we tried never brought anything, I even tried on my oil burner: QUE DALLE
In addition, what action would a magnet have on a hydro-carbon chain?

Elephant: When I fill up at the bottleneck, if it's me or someone else, can you tell me the difference?
Captain: Thanks for the info, even if it's a car that doesn't interest me at all (and with hindsight I deserve to realize that I confused it earlier with Avantime, which it does must exist only in essence (I think !!)
And one last thing: I'm just a technician, not a scientist, so the why of how I don't always have it, I just notice, that I can do.

Ok ... I drain yours and you just dismount the intake manifold of mine ...
It took me 10 hours to change a jont of intake manifold on my travel last winter ...
Here we can see the scientist ... The one who sees engines on benches ... when they are in cases it does not always happen the same ...
Stef ... The overconsumption of your traveling ... I hadn't thought about this shit ... I hadn't condemned it on the old leper ...

Dac o Dac, but what do you want, bad vehicles designed are legion, you have to open the hood before buying a car
I took two hours to understand, dismantle, clean and reassemble the EGR and the intake of my Vel Satis (photo above)
So, your vision of the quirky scientist is frankly close, don't you think?
I invite you to stop telling bullshit and to open a constructive and substantiated debate

You're welcome
I would like to clarify that on the Forum Econology, the goal is to provide verified information, supported by links or sources in order to build a subject;
For example, you quote Avantime, well educate yourself like this before making a guess
1) You type Avantime on your search engine and you come across this that you place as a link in your "post": http://www.caradisiac.com/php/essai_tun ... antime.php
2) You quote the interesting passage for your little friends
Six months after the start of sales in France, the diamond company has decided to revise its copy and expand its offer. The Avantime, which was only powered at the outset by the V6 24 v, is now equipped with two new engines: 2.0 l turbo petrol and 2.2 dCi 150 ch.
End of the course, and it took me 3 minutes, and that way you don't make free assumptions

About EGR A constructive debate about a destructive device ...
Bullshit??? What bullshit: say that the EGR valves on vehicles over 10 years are nameless shit that only cause fouling, reduced performance, overconsumption can go to the outright destruction of the engine.
What else do you need as proof Captain?
You want me to go and dismantle 200 motors in a scrapyard to make you constructive statistics ...
The EGR is still a joke .... Even on recent vehicles ... I know a Kangoo DCI from 2009 which has already paid the price ... it is far from the 100km and only does the road ...
Your fixation on everything that can allow to inject water vapor back into an engine seems to cause you problems of discernment
it doesn't build anything it's only my opinion ...
Search the net for beautiful EGR valves like yours ... And then look for dirty ...
