acoustic energy

or how to transform a nuisance into energy savings.

each time the exhaust valve is opened, a large sound wave is emitted. this wave could move a flexible metallic membrane, on the back of which would be fixed a good big electromagnet.
on the one hand, it would produce current, and on the other hand by damping the wave it would reduce the noise level.

It remains to quantify the power that could be drawn from such a system?

Insignificant in my opinion ...

A noise of 100 dB has only very low mechanical power ... It would be interesting to see if there are conversion formulas in W ... I never asked myself the question but for a car the game doesn ' not worth the candle ... almost certain.
