I saw some, end of 70 years, in Poland ... I think that they are always there - finally not the same, the species!

The species has been reintroduced timidly since then, there are even a few specimens in France.

Did you say "warming"? Wouldn't there be a bit of exaggeration?

When we look at the temperature readings on the last 100 years, there is no doubt that the planet is warming up.

Now, is it fatal for Humanity if we continue like this? We will not be able to live between + and - 30 ° of latitude, and with 7 billions of human our descendants will be well tightened in the high latitudes. It will be necessary to find compact ways to produce food, but it is not technologically impossible.
Our descendants will live in bubbles protecting them from heat and climate disasters.

Is it worse than Elon Musk's plan to live underground on Mars? Probably not.

Man will have just transformed the earthly paradise for a hostile planet. And then, the universe is big no? we will find another planet with oil, coal and gas. History to start the cycle again.

Or not.

It is not in your "bubbles" that it will be possible to produce enough to feed its inhabitants ...

The interest and meaning of the approach of methodical pessimism is that it is counterfactual: it is by becoming aware of the inescapable nature of the disaster. et the fact that it is unacceptable that an action would invalidate this prognosis (unlike the equally methodical optimists who either judge the uncritical situation or postulate the illusory concept of infinite correction, a denial that can only produce, counterfactually , this disaster).

Did67 wrote:... so I think that the warming associated with the recirculation of fossil C in the form of CO² can accentuate natural cycles, or slow down average temperature drops ... Everything seems to indicate that we are in a phase warming ...

This is just a simple opinion. The past of the earth shows that there have been times with much more warming and CO2 than today without it being possible to incriminate the man.
A phase of warming, probable, but we know neither its duration nor its exact variation nor its causes, there are objective reasons to doubt that one would know it. So to say that we should take measures that we can not quantify in relation to the expected results, seems to me completely irrational. This is the path of arbitrariness.

Not even. I have not seen anywhere that the temperatures would be such that we could not bear them. We will put a little more climates in the buildings and the European will live the temperatures of Tunisia, the Tunisian ones of Saudi Arabia, and all this only if the forecasts of the IPCC were exact or they prove false as and when as we arrive at the predicted epochs. And with their forecasts it is not even sure because the increase in temperatures would be accompanied by more rains.

Not impossible!
Apart from some creationists who deny dinosaurs, from the moment the evidence is sufficient, people are clearly in favor. We know that dinosaurs once existed on earth.
But when I see who today deny the Holocaust, I tell myself that you may be right: neither testimonies nor documents can overcome the love of ignorance in an ideological position. It remains to be seen whether the mentality of these future generations will be abandoned by logic and science for affect.

Nothing prevents to cultivate Logic, Science and affect, there is only logic to think the opposite. : Wink:

This is the case but not as we would like. http://grandes-cultures.reussir.fr/actu ... OK3EG.html
There is an increase in two-thirds of the Hexagon with marked seasonal contrasts: increased precipitation during the winter, decreased precipitation during the summer and longer longer droughts. http://www.meteofrance.fr/climat-passe- ... -en-france

When I see the divergences of the so-called "experts", their methodological errors and the falsity of their forecasts, I estimate my chances beyond 80%.

Etienne Vernaz, former research director at CEA, professor at INSTN, a recognized specialist in nuclear waste, gives us an update. It's very informative and accessible to everyone:
