As moderator (which I am also, in derhos to contribute):

a) I ask some to stop any proselitism of religious nature, it has no place on this site.

b) And I pray others to answer that.

It's a no debate here. It does not have that place; Neither proselitism, nor replicas to beliefs ...

Even though I do not share the way that rvp expresses itself, I agree with him when he says that it's not a question of religion (although it is true that many people are confused and mixed)
The Hebrew Bible is a history book in the culture of the Israelite people such as ours concerning Henry IV or Napoleon, (no one is obliged to give credit to these cultures of course!), But to refuse any reference (not the proselytizing) would be like refusing any reference to any historical book (and if necessary to archeology)
Then everything is belief whether religion or atheism, UFOs, the evolution of species, life after death, etc ... all is beliefs and remove them would impoverish enormously trade brought to a hard and hard materialism who would do (and do) the proselytism of atheism (a one-eyed man against a blind man?)

Now I share your opinion that you should not overload a subject with off topic (when it's really off topic!)

If the Bible is undoubtedly a historical material, it does not make it a history book! This is not his function.

All is belief, even science is based on beliefs reasonableshould we practice an amalgam without nuances?

Ahmed hello
If the Bible is undoubtedly a historical material, it does not make it a history book! This is not his function.
Subtle nuance! It is up to the people concerned that the question should be asked! But where does History begin and where does the historical material end?
All is belief, even science is based on reasonable beliefs, is it necessary to practice an amalgam without nuances?
Reasonable ? Is it like alcohol? : " to drink in moderation Except that nobody comes "scientifically" and culturally to define what is meant by this term moderation, left to everyone's estimation. It's the same thing for reasonable. Did Montebourg show reason with its shale gas or rather its advisers? In appearance, yes!
Besides, can a belief really be reasonable? Belief in divinities, survival of the soul, ET, HIV, evolution of species (I could not let it go!) Etc ... are these reasonable beliefs? For some yes, for others no, it's all about knowing where the bar of reason lies!
it reminds me of politics where people vote sometimes on the right (which disappoints them) and then on the left (which disappoints them as much) then the center (with the same result) because not voting for extremes seems more reasonable to them and without to try to know if to vote for these extremes would not be just to show reason. (the rise of the FN as the relative success of the left front seems to go in this direction)
The French revolution (and the others) was just to be unreasonable and yet this is what we recommend today! Ah, these humans! :|

less watts hello
And what do you call '' the deluge ''?
A huge amount of water upsetting the ecosystems. The last rains (a bird pee) showed us the damage that it causes with so little water and over such a short time. A (or) deluge (s), whose geology bears traces, multiplies by very significant coefficients what we have lived.

: Lol: M2W knows what a deluge is ... and his question was for the Reverend.

So what are the geological "traces" of the Flood? (Rather than a peremptory statement, a scientific reference would be more than welcome! : Mrgreen: )

"There are many ways to significantly reduce emissions"

15 Avril 2014 enerzine

According to a new report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), global emissions of greenhouse gases have risen to unprecedented levels despite a growing number of climate change reduction policies.

Emissions grew faster between 2000 and 2010 than in each of the previous three decades.

According to the contribution from Working Group III to the IPCC Fifth Assessment Reportit would be possible, through a range of technical measures and behavioral changes, to limit the rise in global temperature to 2 ° C above pre-industrial levels. However, it is only thanks to major institutional and technological upheavals that there will be more than one chance out of two for global warming not to exceed this threshold.

The report of Working Group III, entitled Climate Change 2014: "Mitigating Climate Change", is the third of three groups' reports which, together with a Synthesis Report to be released in October 2014, constitute the IPCC's Fifth Assessment Report. on climate change **.

According to Edenhofer, "Climate policies aimed at the 2 ° C target must include significant reductions in emissions. Science is sending us a clear message: we must abandon the status quo to avoid dangerous interference with the climate system."

Under certain scenarios, to have a chance to limit the increase in global average temperature to 2 ° C, it will be necessary to reduce global greenhouse gas emissions from 40 to 70% relative to 2010 by the middle of the year. century and eliminate them almost completely by the end of the century. Ambitious mitigation measures may even require direct extraction of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.
