Anyway the future of our children will not get better if we follow this energy-consuming trend and of low lasting development.
The current situation reminds me of a plane in free fall, if you do nothing you crash and if you try something with a little luck you will be able to straighten up hoping not to have done it too late.

Hello
some photos that a pilot from the north post near Ungava bay.

warming is felt
This winter the lakes were a month late before freezing and the mild weather accumulated water on the ice under the snow
they thaw out almost a month in advance.

It's a bit off topic
but this story of free fall, unmanned airplane and parachute.
Reminds me of the helicopter that drops the turbine off, and which gently lands like a little flower. By using the inertia of its turbine / blades by reversing the angle of the blades at the last moment taking advantage of the cancellation of the inertia.
The technology is there, remains to use it intelligently to avoid the crash.
The human is full of resources.
The Ricans open the way: it's sad but economically speaking it is reality.
Don't have 10 years in advance for nothing.
When they launch the Green War for good ($$$), all they have to do is get on the train.
EDIT: causing the explosion of a super volcano would have harmful effects on crops but would cause significant cooling of the entire planet.
The ricans have already had Mount St Helen, still have Yellowstone ...
If they have this idea in the boxes, it would rather fart on the other side of the earth. Not at home, well no, they got the idea, they pass the baby on. It's SF but in the corner of Indonesia it's sensitive.

After the announcement by the Japanese agency JAXA on August 26, it is NASA's turn to confirm
long eFigaro article: http://www.lefigaro.fr/environnement/20 ... ctique.php
Record melting of the Arctic sea ice
The announcement had been awaited for several weeks. This time, there it is. Satellite images from NASA, the US space agency, confirm this: since Monday, August 26, the pack ice of the Arctic Ocean around the North Pole has reached a new record for melting. The total area of sea ice is no more than 4,10 million km2. This is nearly 70.000 km2 less than the previous record which dated September 18, 2007, calculated the researchers of the American Center of data on ice and snow (NSIDC), based at the university Boulder, in Colorado.
"These are all numbers, but above all it is a sign that the ice sheet of the Arctic Ocean is fundamentally changing," recognized Walt Meier, researcher at NSIDC, during a press conference held jointly with NASA. Everything that happens in high latitudes should be watched closely. “The ice floes in the Far North are a region that is watching over everything related to global warming. Not only is it the first to react, but it is also where the impacts are strongest, underlines Hervé Le Treut, director of the Pierre-Simon Laplace institute (Paris).

Ice melt: Russia to urgently evacuate its polar station
The World | 23.05.2013
Russia to urgently evacuate its polar station installed on the ice floe of the North Pole, due to the abnormal melting of the ice, announced Thursday, May 23 the Ministry of natural resources and ecology in a press release. The minister, Sergei Donskoy, ordered to "develop in three days an evacuation plan for the scientific polar station Severny Polyus 40" where there are currently 16 people, the statement said.
This decision is explained by "an abnormal development of natural processes in the Arctic basin, which resulted in the destruction of the ice fields around the station", according to the same source. "The ice is cracking. Cracks have appeared on the ice floe ", A spokesman for the ministry told AFP.
"THREATS TO CANADA"
The destruction of the ice "threatens not only the continuation of the station's activities and the life of its personnel, but also the environment in the zone of its drift, located not far from the economic zone of Canada", underlines the press release. The possible use of an icebreaker to move the station to Northern Land, a Russian archipelago in the Arctic Ocean, must in particular be studied, he adds.
Severny Polious 40, the fortieth Russian polar station deployed in this region since the beginning of the conquest of the Arctic by the USSR in 1937, was opened in October 2012 in order, in particular, to monitor the environment of the Arctic Ocean and make meteorological observations.
