To go to work I traveled (I noted my journeys, as I started to do today for the VAE) almost 1800 km by mountain bike in 3 years.
But I couldn't use it everyday. The equipped bike, steel frame, baby carrier, accessories, weighs 25 kg, like my VAE aluminum frame. As soon as it was hot, I was sweating too much to continue. Marseille is not a flat city and there is often wind.

At work no shower, just a sink to cool off, something to change and the "spray shower" = deodorant.

So if the VAE allows commuting by using an ecological mode of transport instead of a fossil fuel vehicle, so much the better.
Those who can afford to use a bicycle without assistance because having a shower available, or having a physical job where sooner or later they will sweat, they can indeed do without the VAE.

Agree with you, sweating a little is not a problem. But today the noses are more 'delicate' and it is inappropriate to feel a little at work when you have a sedentary activity.
