Good evening everyone,
By exploring the nooks and crannies of the new econology site, I went to see the section "Who's online?"
Many "visitors" have the word [Bot], example "Google [Bot]".
What does it correspond to? ... and what is it for? ...

Re: Visitors "[Bot]"
Good question, thank you for asking.
These are just the spiders (= robots crawlers, robots explorers ...) search engines ... with a specification for some of them, like Google Image ...
Here, as there was a big migration, they are there 24h / 24 story while re-indexing: I think it will calm down by 1 or 2 months ...
2 weeks after the migration, 80% is still missing from the images of the forum in Google Image ... so there's re-indexing work ...

Additional information available
These robots connecting the sites several times a day induce a counting error in the number of visitors and distort the statistics. Personally I counted up to thirty, which also creates a useless occupation of the available bandwidth.

Re: Visitors "[Bot]"
Not with the new forum precisely: BOTs are excluded from views
They are not counted in other statistical tools, unless you use statistics only on the IP without any filtering Webalizer kind that scans Apache raw logs (but nobody uses it for at least a year 2002 to have reliable statistics!)
I do not understand well: the bandwidth used by Bot seems to bother you? So you want a site that is not indexed? This bandwidth is unfortunately incompressible ... And Google (more than others) optimizes this well (others are much more nags) ... You can even define a craw-delay in the robots file ...

I read you this afternoon on the page Fabrice, hi!
Well, yes but no, this is not the bandwidth that bothers me but visits counters on a server program, I realized that more than 50% of traffic was generated by the bot and by excluding by their IPs or groups of IPs, it did not put 8 days to return with other fields of IP. The server is not visible to users, have access only via links placed at their disposal ....
