I did not intend to "top" this report on DailyMotion, but simply to be of service, for the tutorial and to simplify the steps of a possibility of capture.
I wanted to give it a shot, to see if we could cut the sequence along the way, as you wished (and as I could not do with the video download, automatic of Real Player, which I use the rest of the time) .
But, as I explained, I also wanted to make it shorter than the tutorial, by deleting a step.
That is, without format conversion, if possible.
Since the asf format goes everywhere, and also with WMP, so no problem playing on my PC, for the videos that interest me.
(Except that ASF does not go to file download, on Econologie)
I just checked just now:
the video in .asf which I gave on the MegaUpload link, is accepted as such on the Dailymotion site.

All the more reason not to convert to another format…
So we summarize:
1- Have the VLC player to record part of a television news.
2- Use an editing software that accepts .asf files, in order to cut unnecessary ends (Like Splitter in a limited version, for example, failing another).
3- This sequence can be made available directly on Dailymotion, if desired, without going through any conversion software at any time.
Is that clear ?
