Hello, it is not me who made this video. I find it well done, the image is stable and the movement is well mastered.

Jérôme Scalvini killed himself this weekend as a paramotor, he was known for his flight over the Pyrenees this winter and a small interview on France3: https://www.facebook.com/picmidiocean/v ... 744817510/

On the other hand the thesis of the engine failure at the origin of a fall of 30m is pretty incredible! Except if the propeller breaks (or other part that comes off at high engine speed) and rips the sail or some lines: a paramotor without engine is a paraglider degraded but paragliding anyway so without engine does not fall: we keep flying ...

Rest in peace the pilot friend!

To understand how a paramotor flies, here is a jet paramotor equipped with a T58 turbine of a H53 helicopter
Despite the, at least, 1000 cv, it does not really fly faster than an engine 50 CV ... at the risk of breaking the balance of the pendulum ...

Anything that stuff. What a pleasure to fly with a whistle like this at 100dB in the ears, with a monstrous consumption (> 350 l / hour?), Extremely expensive maintenance, ridiculous autonomy, by ferociously underusing the engine (the engine is not done / validated for that) .... and if you crash, the engine breaks open and the rotating parts (high energy) that cross cut everything in the way ...

Absolutely: big no matter what ... but must excuse them are americans what :)

In the same kind but in (a little) more reasonable: the paramotor with aircraft model turbines ... no less noisy but certainly a little more economical (like 15-20L / h ... 40 km / h .. .)

Of course, all these machines are much noisier than the "airplane"! ...
