I dig up ...
When I have the time, I just drag my mouse on econology, either to propose a new topic or give an answer to an open topic, or simply to follow the topics that interest me and read the latest answers.
I also like to see what topics are of interest to everyone,
"trendy" subjects in a way, and in general, I look at the number of responses, views, the date of opening the subject to decide to go read a topic and see what comes out of the information and advice given.
I thought it would be interesting to have
an indication of interest in a topic,
a kind of popularity index of the subject which takes into account several parameters:
- the interest it arouses to consult it (number of views, weighted with the seniority of the subject)
- the interest it arouses to answer it (number of answers, weighted also with the seniority of the subject)
- the number of visits coming from a search of a search engine (if it is possible to have this info!)
- etc
There are undoubtedly other judicious parameters to take into account, such as for example the number of "likes" generated by the subject, the frequency and the average duration of consultation, and others, perhaps more difficult to be defined, such as for example the number of "off topic" answers, because I admit, there are certain subjects which interest me but for which I find that there are many uninteresting answers which dissuade me from everything read ... but it's probably very subjective!
In short, there is grain to grind and it would be interesting to imagine a small algorithm for calculating a popularity rating that would appear in the list of "Recent Topics"!
