I tested an OVH VPS during 1 year: at the processor level it did not hold the road at all (I tested 2 hearts and 3 hearts) and it was for a small backup server..Bref beware virtual servers because from one host to another, if on paper it's beautiful, in reality it can be day and night!

So what to look for when choosing a server is:

a) Processor (= speed of execution)
b) RAM (= speed of execution and amortization of visit peaks)
c) Storage (if you do not do video hosting or photo or could, 10 Go are more than enough for 99% of sites!)
d) Connectivity and bandwidth.
e) SQL (or equivalent), hosted on the same server or not? Power of the SQL server if shared (= speed of execution)
f) And finally very important: type of management and administration (a lot of soft administration with panels, Virtualmin style, Webmin ... are real shit that does not stop to drink and also nests to attack if not updated continuously!

Obviously the power depends on your traffic (and especially spikes): for 100 visitors per day (including robot) an offer to 1 or 2 € per month will be sufficient ...

On my dedicated OVH which was a debian, I managed 100% bash / ssh command line ... And since it was never hacked is that I did pretty well this job ... autoditact I specify !

About d) it's unlimited to some extent ... but currently bandwidth costs almost nothing!

I remember a friend who used "unlimited" free hosting in '98 or '99 to start a sex business ... lol.

In 2 days the site has been closed! Not because of the content but the daily BP consumed Go.

In his biggest years, Econology was 500 GB bandwidth per month ... and we must add the image hosting server and file that made him in 200 Go (on another server)

I have never had any contact from the hosts about this.

It remains small traffics ...

ps: here is the old motherboard of the server P5VD2-MX it dates well of 2006 and has never been changed ...

Otherwise look here http://www.top10hebergeurs.com/avis/heb ... ance-2.php to get an idea of the quality of each host .... We can not say that OVH is well noted ... they have become too big too fast and we neglected that the customers were not numbers (support shit ...)

Otherwise if someone is looking for a host, I can possibly make you a place on one of my servers?

Note valid for all members of forums (who have minimum messages anyway ... Trust story)

Indeed, the comments on OVH are hard! As for me, I hate their new interface: I do not understand much anymore. I moan, I just bought 2 domain names and hosting for our company.

But hey, our needs are far from yours.

Nuxit are 5eme in the ranking of the site that you gave, I did not even think to find them in the ranking : Shock:
I have been a customer at home for quite a few years, apart from the prices nothing to say (but good considering the use that I have it would be serious)
