View of Canary asbestos quarry in Cap Corse in September 2013:



The quarry was operated by the infamous Eternit company. The sign reads: Securing and mechanical stabilization work on the old asbestos quarry. Works co-financed by ADEME at 60% and the EU via the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). Cost 5 million euros. (I took this picture in July 2011).



The quarry produced chrysotile white asbestos.

Further north, there is a Genoese tower known as the "Tour de Sénèque" at an altitude of 500 m. Easy access by a marked trail in the forest. Magnificent point of view. We can see the Méria photovoltaic park inaugurated in spring 2013: http://www.franceregion.fr/meria-mise-s ... ire-art213
