It's very practical, but I would not put it in the "curious" category, nor in the "unusual" categoryoli 80 wrote:There are several models

Re: Curious and Unusual Objects
Here is the Crookes Radiometer which has left many scientists puzzled!
It turns as soon as a ray of light illuminates the small propeller placed in the middle of the bulb, which suggests that the light coming to "hit" the fins had a mass (kinetic energy) ... in fact no, but this curious object still retains some mysteries! ... (wiki)

This object is funny, it looks like a safety clip (for unstable rider! )
Except that the safety stirrup, unlike the object you present, does not increase the stability of the rider!
(it only allows the rider not to remain attached to his mount in the event of a fall ...)

Hello, here is a rather curious but clever object for a boat, it works even in your absence and without electricity

Re: Curious and Unusual Objects
I found this curious object!
It's a pump, but on the plate it says: "Air Generator under Depression".
As much a pump that generates air, I understand, but "air under vacuum"! ....
Could this also be called a vacuum pump?
There are 2 pipes that come out of the central block and a wheel that was driven by a belt.
A small end-piece has been fixed on this wheel to make it turn by hand, and when we turn this wheel we hear a compression noise as on a piston engine which we turn manually.
I'll try to spin it quickly with a drill to see what "vacuum air" looks like!
Do you have any idea how to use this pump? ....

Re: Curious and Unusual Objects
Hello, it could be a kind of small compressor, in vacuum pump we connect the hose to the air intake as if to pack food under vacuum or the model maker uses vacuum pump for aircraft in model or radio controlled,
to use it as a compressor just put the hose on the air outlet and you can inflate tires
compressor mounting example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZqBwauq_Yk

they are big compressors, I see on the photos according to the size of the tiles this device is quite small so
you should try it first to see what it looks like
here is a blog about the company that made these machines http://air-equipement-blois-remember.blogspot.fr/

Re: Curious and Unusual Objects
According to the manufacturer (air-equipment), it is an aviation part.Grelinette wrote:Do you have any idea how to use this pump? ....
Probably a vacuum pump to activate equipment (s) of the aircraft (landing gear, ...)
