Ben the engine was still good ... I managed to start it in a few hours of cleaning / purges varied the 1ere day.

I remember the day I got it back: it was the day of Bergovoy's suicide.

After I changed the screw platinum and I began to seriously hack a little later ... this is where I started to push more next to the road to roll over! The mobeux know the song ...

The engine was running "backwards" compared to modern mobs (base of the MBK51 of which a lot of parts were still compatible) that caused me a lot of worries ...

I had the "same" (model?) secondhand in 1976. When I gave it to my boyfriend, the first thing he did was to remove the double variator and the gearbox. .. to be able to run the engine "right" and mount the traditional gear ratio of other mobs. It may have ended in Africa this one too .... : Mrgreen:

Big mistake to do that! This double vario was precisely one of the specificities of the SP98 !!

In a certain configuration, I rotted many modern scooters at traffic lights !!

Besides, I wonder if this double vario (exactly after all the scooter) was not a world innovation at the time ... that of my father dates from 1968.

If I remember correctly, the performance of the mob was almost identical before and after the removal operation of the double vario. (to some accessories near, pot, spring to stretch the belt and final gearing .... when one makes with the available : Mrgreen:)
