With regard to COM.

To do in the useful, it is necessary to pass the message:

"Insulate better, Ride less" is much more efficient than all of the scoops we were given in the pasture type energy saving lamps etc ...

http://www.manicore.com/documentation/economies.html

Everyone can set an annual goal, for example (Go from 15 cm of roof insulation to 30 cm and reduce the distance traveled by car by 20 or 30%.)

It is effective, tenable, depreciable and without being Arakiri : Mrgreen:

Agree for the message (we could say heat less strongly too) but not for the so-called scoops because since we installed our ecowatt I found that the lighting was much more than what I thought in consumption and we are 100% in fluorescent ... We are more than 5% ... at least right now ...

I therefore disagree with Janco's figures on lighting ... and using fluorescent bulbs is not a measure ... it is a measure among others ... and it is surely one of the easier to set up. But yes it is largely insufficient!

Indeed, everything is good to take and added in a good way! But, it was in the sense of saying that we could attack energy savings, pollution, double digits ..... the first year at least : Mrgreen: After that it will be a little more complicated without being utopian to make such a big gain without challenging deeper and thoughtful causes.

Janco is a polytechnician ... He works in the calculation of large flows ...

I think you should always consider several points together:

- how much does it cost ? and does it pay off?

In short is it economically viable. Ex: compact fluorescent = yes

- is this "generalizable" (to a graded number, to everyone in rich countries? to everyone on this planet?)

Ex: flucocompacte: where there is electricity; in low voltage (PV) prefer LED ...

- is this sociologically acceptable?

Fluocmpacte: yes (but dry toilets, it gets stuck!) ...

- what imprint? Gray energy? Materials ? Heavy metals ? Recycling ???

I think that such an analysis "grid" is terribly lacking, when I see how we gut on the forums on this or that gadget (eg: compact fluorescent)!

Good idea to think about a "multi-criteria grid" in one of the association's projects for example ...

But I am almost certain that it already exists in a very complete way (Life Cycle Analysis methods for example ...) ... but may not be accessible to the general public ...
