Uh my dear elephant ... we have been talking about aquazole since 1996 ...
This text dates from 1998: http://www.industrie.gouv.fr/energie/pe ... e_aqua.htm !

So I guess a decade is still enough isn't it?

If it does not come out it is because there are technical or financial problems ... or economic pressures ...

: Arrow: It was I who threw the info out on the "Gamlen" but I never found any. :?

I read today in issue 22 of 2e2d.info on page 40 that the Angoulème bus company is testing an American fuel named O2Diesel. This fuel would contain 7.7% ethanol, 0.6% patented additive and 91.7% conventional diesel.

Is this product related to GECAM. :?:

I bet the 0.6% is acetone! : Mrgreen:

Ethanol and Diesel ...:) It proves that Maloche's intuition with his SP95 in the GO was good ...

(no offense to professionals who "know" that it's bad ...)

I think the only link is improved combustion and lower emissions ...

You're right Christophe, it's not at all a bp of injector, I confused with something else ...

I think it is rather a false pretext not to sell it to individuals ... or that they are not sure of their product (stability over time) ... it is not for nothing that aquazole has never broken through in France ...

There are two reasons which justify that Gecam is not accessible to private vehicles:
1 / Tax exemption: this fuel is distributed by means of specific logistics and finds its interest in particular in the fact that it is subject to a reduction in the TIPP. It is intended to reduce harmful emissions from the most polluting modes (bus, coach, heavy goods vehicle). If we want to make it accessible at the pump, we must set up a national supply. As the water-diesel emulsion is stable for 3 months, it cannot be stored as long as conventional diesel and the distribution costs could then be more expensive. So in the end it would cost you as much as good old diesel, but with an overconsumption of the order of 8% ... The tax exemption of Gecam is an incentive from the state to develop public transport, not use of the private car!
2 / A technical problem with small displacement engines (this is not generalized, it depends on the type of vehicle): a minimum volume is required so that the water-diesel-air combustion reaction can be carried out optimally, without affecting the engine performance too much, and therefore the performance of your vehicle.

FYI: more than 10 diesel vehicles run on Gecam in Europe (buses, coaches, trucks, dumpsters, agricultural vehicles) without any concern for reliability.
The difference between Aquazole and Gecam lies in the proportions of water and diesel (Gecam: 89% GO and 9,3% water, Aquazole: 85% GO and 13%). The latter should generate more technical bp, because Total has withdrawn from this product.
