Is it possible to use filters normally reserved for drinking water that are 25 and 5 micron. I am talking about filter cartridges that are placed in filter blocks. I saw at Culligan that there were rigid polypropylene filters (I think) that are placed in a filter block.
For info I just saw in a review a cogeneration builder with a stirling engine.

The filtered fryer oil ... what is its shelf life, in a tank of 1000 plastic liters? (At room temperature)
1an? two years?
Hello
I don't know your ambient temperature, but here in the tropics it starts to make "jellyfish" after 3 to 4 months.
to fight against it is currently testing 0.5 / 100 super95 additive response in 3 month
note the jellyfish, apart from plugging the pipe, it does not matter is enough to stir very hard and its dissipates.
share against mixing 1 / 3 GO 2 / 3 hvp it does not move

@champ: the blocks should be suitable for filtration because other use filters water cartridges for their oil filtration system. And then it is 25 microns for water or for oil ... it remains 25 microns
@justemilieu: total shelf life ... well .. uh, no idea. I filter almost directly for my consumption. Very little in advance. But just like Zac, I know from experience shared with others that the diesel / oil mixture holds up very well over time. Some, to be "on" that it really goes the distance, immediately add the c99

Hi Shinra
I put the c99 before filtration and it does not prevent jellyfish after a while; on the other hand it fluidizes the oil and we gain about 30 / 100 on the filtering time.

30 / 100?
you add it after passing through the fabric filter, the first that turns you dirt? Because I was telling me that on some cans, if I did it immediately ... well I would have losses with molasses

Hello,
Here is the doc provided by Henry.
To read !

https://www.econologie.info/share/partag ... yhJpp7.doc
https://www.econologie.info/share/partag ... znrIoL.doc
The main information I have selected is that the oil must pass several times in the filter to increase filtration.
It is not a filter that announces 5 micron filtration that a single pass will be enough to eliminate anything greater than 5 microns.
More info will come directly from Henry.

Here is my oil mill:
I made 2 concrete iron circles or I sewed and stretched a fabric around
I can put 35 L at once in a filtration unit. I remove molasses with a skimmer after
Then it is stored in a cistern.
Once a month, I open the bottom valve to take out the water and the remaining solid materials that are flowing.
Then I have 3 cartridge filters with disposable filters 80, 80 and 10 micons
Then more than fill up
