Hello André
Andre wrote:Some auto (Simca) if I remember correctly, had a centrifugal filter system with engine oil at the end of the vibrequin.

It was a true filtering or degassing system as found on gas turbines. If it is old cars, 30 or 40 years ago the oils feared much more than now the oxidation and it could be a device to improve the conservation of the oil?

: Cheesy: : Cheesy: at the time ...
I had a friend who had a problem on his simca
The oil was no longer on the rockers
: Shock:
I used an old gas pump of the time, which I connected in suction instead of the dipstick and I installed a lube ramp on the camshaft.
it was so much fun that one day my friend had to go to the garage with his old car, and!
All the staff came to see this new lubrication system
What scares me is that .. maybe there was a centrifugal filter, and it was enough to clean it ... :?
But no, it's not possible :D

Hello

What scares me is that .. maybe there was a centrifugal filter, and it was enough to clean it ...
But no, it's not possible

In 1967 Simca had at the end of vibrequin on the pulley before a filter centrifugal éffficace it was necessary to clean it with 20 000 km and to replace the joints, all the dirt was centrifuged in this box .. (this beautiful sytéme was abolished to be replaced by cardboard cartridges, simpler to replace, at least the demoting and cleaning was not accepted by all)

Inform yourself at the old retired mechanic.

Andre

The hollow crankshaft of the Lycoming aircraft engines has a plug on each screw, when the engine is disassembled it is necessary to remove these plugs and clean the important deposit which has been centrifuged.

: Arrow: The centrifugal oil purifiers were also part of the Peugeot productions. I'm thinking of the 204, in particular.

On my Panhard 24, the lubrication of the vilbequin was ensured by a drip which centrifuged the oil of the crankcase to send it on the trunnions, the crankpin, and through the connecting rod on the axis of the piston.
During long turns in support, the crankshaft was no longer bathed in the crankcase oil and we heard a slam indicating that the moving parts were lacking oil ...

Ah, that was the good time ... : Lol:
