You are confusing with the drones, who are the male bees. As reported Woodcutter, bumblebees are different genera (Bombus and not Apis). As with bees, there are laying females, males, and workers.

Bumblebees are quite different species. As with bees, there are laying females, males, and workers.

The absurdities of yesterday are the truths of today and tomorrow banalities.

Hello Renaud67
Thank you for the image that represents a real drone.
A drone is a male bee whose sting is replaced by the reproductive system. It looks like the bee, a little bigger. It can not sting, unlike the drone, which still has a peaceful temperament.

the chipoteurs !!
Bumblebee, drone, wasps or hornets, it does not matter!
They forage but do, I believe, no "honey" (or very little compared to bees) ...
It's not because a looted insect that it necessarily produces honey ... that was all I wanted to say!

But I think you got what I wanted to say: I think that all browsers do not necessarily make honey ...

Honey is an 'accessory' product.
The important thing is that the insect swedes and by this scatters pollen from flower to flower to ensure pollination. This is what is vital for the ecosystem.
The production of honey is a plus that man can exploit in complements fruits and vegetables and the reproduction of plants.
