Ok Christine, I get you 5/5, it's clear that if the association. grab the seeds for free and sell them with a profit, it lacks a bit of transparency.

Christophe wrote:No Bham ... it has nothing to do with the bashing because of a high price ... moreover you largely disappoint me by thinking that Christine and I could have such behavior, so low ....

You took it badly Christophe; When I spoke of the reflex of denigrating the most expensive seller, I was speaking generally, for you (hence your qualifier of mercantile) but also for me among others, the proof on the subject of cellulose.
What I wanted to say with a little humor (damn I grant it) is that you find "almost" normal that cellulose is 4 to 5 times more expensive in France than in Quebec but that in return you digest rather badly to pay for seeds 50% more expensive (but here I agree with you).
So my comparison is a bit distorted, the market conditions are not the same but in short it was just to make a parallel, on the one hand you speak of market law and on the other of mercantilism. :D

Rah he insists! It's not so much the price difference as the behavior of the people at the kokopelli stand ...

For your analogy with cellulose sorry but I stay on my positions because there is when there is a "slight" difference between a few thousand km and an ocean to be crossed and a distance of about 20 m (between the 2 stands) ...

New for Kokopelli:

Kokopelli: the state could withdraw and amend the law (Kosciusko-Morizet)

The state plans to step aside to save the Kokopelli association, which sells and defends old seeds, from having to pay all of the fines to which it is condemned, the secretary of state for ecology said on Wednesday. Nathalie Kosciusko-Morizet.

Ooh ooh there, I was just trying to understand the reason for the term "commercialism" applied to Kokopelli.
If there's nothing more we can say, go away : Cry:

Dixit mon p'tit Larousse: "mercantile: characterized by the lure of profit".
Good for a stock trader it's not pejorative, :D but for "a priori" green against a certain consumer society, I think it can be.
Well, we're not going to make a cheese either, huh. :?

Latest news and explanations:
We lost but maybe we will
help us win!

We also thank those who have already sent us donations to help us financially. The cost of all lawsuits for two years is 88 euros, which includes the various and varied penalties, the fees of a large number of lawyers and ancillary costs. All those who wish to contribute financially can do so, from now on, from our website as we have just included the possibility of making a "free donation" online.

The Kokopelli Association takes note of the declarations and promises of Mrs. Nathalie Kosciusko-Morisset, Secretary of State for Ecology (who has just declared on France-Inter that she was a client of Kokopelli). We dare to hope that they will be followed by concrete measures allowing us to continue the work that we have been doing for fifteen years, namely the protection of a food biodiversity which is not virtual and in a cold room (in freezers or in the Norwegian permafrost) but which is accessible to all, gardeners, market gardeners and farmers.

Regarding the lawsuit brought to us by the Baumaux Company, we are going to appeal this judgment, to say the least, surprising since the Kokopelli Association was nevertheless ordered to pay penalties for unfair competition while Mr. Philippe Baumaux was rejected almost all of his requests, including his request to close our association!

Regarding the lawsuit we have just lost in the Court of Cassation, against the FNPSP and the GNIS (National Interprofessional Seed Grouping), we ask the French State to benefit from an amnesty on the penalties and costs generated by the conviction which are around 20 euros. The very good surprise of the Cassation judgment was that the GNIS was rejected of all its requests: the GNIS therefore lost against Kokopelli !!!

Let us recall that the GNIS, under the aegis of the Ministry of Agriculture, harassed us for very long years! This means that it was the FNPSP which obtained from the court confirmation of our conviction up to 5000 euros for itself (and therefore 20 euros for the State); remember that this federation of vegetable seed companies includes small seed companies but also and above all the large multinationals that have taken agriculture and farmers hostage: Limagrain, Syngenta (the great tenor of toxic agriculture) and Monsanto, the world n ° 000 in seed in all aspects and the world n ° 1 in vegetable seeds.

The Kokopelli Association is preparing an elaborate response to the latest GNIS press release. Right now, we want to highlight the first following issue. GNIS has seen fit to sue us for years because we distribute varieties not listed in their National Catalog. We therefore deduce that all the varieties listed in their National Catalog are authorized for sale and cultivation. How does one explain in this case the presence, on page 82 of the 2006 catalog (which as of February 8, 2008 is still the reference), of 15 GMO maize varieties, 6 of which have Monsanto maize as "transformation event" much maligned, the MON 810? These 15 GMO varieties were listed in the 2004, 2005 and 2006 catalogs (Benjil, Boisa, César Cb, Elgina, Garonna, etc.). Some have in fact been registered since 1998! Spain, (where a large number of French farmers will be supplied with inexpensive and illegal GMO seeds) had already registered, in 2004, 11 varieties of MON 810 type maize. The other "transformation event" (a euphemism not to name a transgenic tampering) present in these genetic chimeras is Bt 176, the property of Syngenta. Let us underline that the grotesque expression "event of transformation" is not only the symptom of a disease of civilization but also a hide-and-seek to make people forget that the MON 810 of Monsanto is not a variety but a super-variety. which generated dozens of varieties of chimeric corn.

The second problem that we wish to highlight is the following: in this National Catalog there is a list of varieties allowed for sale for amateurs. However, we have been able to prove with the Robin des Semences Campaign that hundreds of supermarkets in France have Auchan, Leclerc, etc. chains. sell with impunity in the fall fruit of varieties strictly prohibited for professional use.

What is the value of a National Catalog which lists GMO varieties which are not authorized for cultivation and which, moreover, lists old varieties, reserved for amateur use, illegally distributed by supermarket chains? So what are the attributes and prerogatives of the GNIS which was dismissed in the Court of Cassation because it was not authorized by statute to sue the Kokopelli Association? Wouldn't the aims of GNIS simply be to help their friends from the multinational seed companies to acquire a total monopoly on the seed and to completely confiscate the living?

Would the GNIS intend to modify its statutes to better catch up with our association because it is true that when Marshal Pétain created this "hybrid institution" in 1941, he did not foresee that the Kokopelli Association would sow good seeds? of life, 60 years later, in total contempt for a puppet catalog in the pay of agro-chemicals and multinational seed companies.

We refer all those who are interested in this subject to the article by Dominique Guillet: "The National Catalog, one more agricultural nuisance?"

We thank you again for your trust and support.

GMO petition I say no
Kokopelli fully associates itself with the petition which has just been launched by the journal L'Ecologiste and the association GMO dangers in order to allow citizens to express clearly, simply and directly their refusal of GMOs. It is urgent: a law must be adopted in the coming months.

You can very easily sign this petition online and send it just as easily to the deputies and senators of your department on: www.ogm-jedisnon.org

You will also find on this site an "FAQ" (Answers to frequently asked questions).

If the subject seems important to you, circulate this message as much as possible: each signature counts!
