Thanks Did Image

Uh ... : Oops: little question : Lol:

My wife came back tonight with 2 magnificent red currant bush, 1 raspberry heritage? going up and 1 rising strawberry.

Currants and strawberries have fruits but not raspberry. I saw that it was not really the right time to plant this kind of fruit, except the strawberry maybe ... but I think I'll still plant this WE : Twisted:

I have so much to do in my kitchen garden that suddenly I get pissed off : Mrgreen: Thank you Didier !!! : roll: : Lol: : Lol: : Wink:

I heard that for raspberries it was necessary to cut them in half before planting them. True / False / Obi-Wan Kenobi?

For the strawberries I'm going to make the feeling : Lol:

But as for the currants, it is a favorite of my wife and I would not "do wrong".

It is fruit so and I wonder how to proceed conscious that we will have no red fruit before next year, apart, again, perhaps the strawberries.
Should I prune it before? Do I harvest the fruit or plant as it is?

I try to take pictures and put them on.

Thank you!

For plants in "pots", you act as if there was no season and no rules (which dates from the time when we were working with "bare root" plants (techniques are always evolving more than mentalities and "we say that ...")! You plant. Exceptionally, if it's dry, you water (it should not be the case). And you cover very thick ...

If the roots are in a "tight bun", you undo, even if it means doing a little damage.

You have a good surface, there is something to do ...

After I'm more dubious about the quantities.
But I have the same critical look for us ...

If we really want to consume the multiplications are to be done by 10 or 20 or 30

@ Did: It's true that I will not need to water, the sky has spoiled us lately : Shock: :)
No size, then? I decompact the mound and I plant ... it suits me : Lol:
Thank you!

@Nico: No, not much surface prepared for the moment. Good for strawberries I can spread on the garden but for currants and raspberries I have not huge. I need to look around the house for one or more places where I can lie down without cluttering up the floor close to the house : Wink:
A kind of squat on which I will be able to let them run freely without having to manage them constantly : Lol:

Edit: For the gooseberries it is a small pleasure for my wife who spent her youth to eat :) .We can see on some of my photos, next to the swimming pool, the currant tree on which she picked these fruits but it is cousin's and therefore "not touch" Image
We will not make jams either :) 2 feet will suffice I think.

We did a little job this WE ...

IMG_1946.JPG

... but it's not to talk about that that I call you!

As you can see, I dug a sliced ch'tite to bury a pipe on which we were continually rolling. Result, 3m of pipe to cut every year : Shock:
In short, this place is concrete !! It's a mixture of earth and gravel, we roll and we park on it for decades: it is packed to death.
I do not tell you (well, I tell you actually) the number of verses I found there! : Shock: : Shock:
I have them thrown gently deposited in my kitchen garden : Oops:
I can plant in this ungrateful soil that I will not be surprised that it grows :)

Nature cares for life everywhere!
