Yes indeed these early tomatoes are very well left! How are you going to tutor?

Well, I am quite satisfied with the result on my tomatoes and zucchini planted too early: after a period of suffering (yellow and white leaves, stung) I realize, against all odds, that they come back to life!

The surviving tomatoes: 3 feet on the left and 2 on the right, the little one on the bottom right was planted recently.

The 3 feet at the bottom (the dark ones) all the others were planted last week. To note the flower of zucchini, she also a survivor.

the same ...

Zucchini that come back to life! We can clearly see the condition of the "old" leaves!

Finally, newcomers:

The eggplants :

Peppers :

I protected some plants, the most fragile, with rings of cardboard, it is especially for the cats :) (useful or not!?)

A+

Nice set up ...

Well cats it depends on your biotope : Mrgreen:

If they really are legion leave them a square of bare earth a little loose somewhere with some kibble in a corner.

They like loose soil or even sand to make their needs and croquettes I don't even tell you.

Mine never go for a walk in the vegetable patch: straw and everything they don't like.

Ben me this morning I surprised the so-called Ficelle, owner cat who scraped the hay to make its needs. I had to intervene and disturb her in action: she didn't like it, I understand it!
By cons I do not think that the cats degrades the tomato plans but good must see ...

In fact, at the beginning, my chatounets only went on the boards. With habit they cross anywhere.
When I am "working" in the vegetable garden they come with me and watch everything I do. : Lol:
They lie on the straw but do not scratch (for now)!

For the small tomato feet they walk on it without seeing them, that's why I put these boxes: it's more visual than anything else but it still works.

This weekend we saw on our land a species of bird that we had never seen: a Hoopoe!

Seen through binoculars but not had time to take a photo, this is what it looks like:

Otherwise, I hope there was no hail towards my house, I am afraid of finding my kitchen garden ravaged :? If someone from the area could tell me what the weather is like today

It's like the slugs ... you put one or two bags of weldom ground cover at 2 € she will prefer to go there.

Otherwise a pschitt with an air bomb (style to clean the keyboard) they HATE and it marks them.

Otherwise a throw: that also marks them.

But the worst is the pschitt : Mrgreen:

You see it on my photos often (or a tip) I always have one that follows me too ... what a pot of glue. : Shock: that of my avatar

Indeed they have no idea of the garden and therefore can walk anywhere provided that it is low to the ground so the transplanting of tomatoes has.

As soon as it goes up, there is little chance that they will do damage, unlike the dog which does not do it on purpose but which ransacks more and shows itself less looking at the large plants which it sends crazy (finally a normal dog not a chihuahua Image.

But again if you have a good thickness of hay or straw FURNISHED: ie thick of course but NOT packed.

They do not like to walk on moving ground at all like 20cm of hay in which they sink.

Hoops there were kilos in the Luberon.
We even took a photo of it on phone 6 on the same telephone line but no way to find the photo ...

However never seen the shadow of one here.
If they start going up in 04 where are we going?

A priori no hail of the day.
Now how to be on the hail can fall on a very small area.

@ Chafouin:
I was thinking of putting bamboo or metal stakes, it will be according to the price. At the same time I wonder if it is not harmful for the plant the metal : Shock:
And then bamboo is more natural ...
I also ask myself the question of guardians suspended on a "bridge" as we see especially in greenhouses.

Anyway, I don't know : Lol: : Lol: : Lol:

I will see tomorrow in Digne what they will offer me : Cheesy:

@ Nico:

You were saying ...

But they still prefer to be on the board, it's true : Wink:
No hail either, whew!

An air bomb for cats :!: :o Tortionnaire !!! :) :)

It is true that they are curious our cats! Ours follow us in the evening in the woods during our ballad aperitif (with the pastaga yes yes), we go to the edge of the small river which flows in the undergrowth, we cross the fields of the neighbor to finish in a grove which we bring home. And every night when we're here it's the same: they put themselves on the wall that borders the field and they look forward to the small trip.

It's crazy to see them follow us like dogs! : Shock:

Iron, steel, etc ... are not harmful. On the contrary, it is indispensable. The "blockage" of iron or the absence of iron in some very poor soils causes disease, chlorosis. Some soils (like our red sandstones) have enormous iron contents, hence their color! Zinc in small quantities is essential.

We must stop the phobia of everything!

Heavy metals, on the other hand, cadmium, copper, etc., are toxic. Indeed.

No, metal is not harmful as a stake. I used bamboo (it is an invasive, I find it near my home, it cuts and deburrs easily with a mop

you can find this kind of old tool that slab in garage sales, if not with an ax for example). I would advise you to put solid stakes, very stable and that do not bend because if your tomatoes (I'm talking about tomatoes that are not appetizers) start well, once the fruits are big it makes weight and if there is from the wind (outside a greenhouse) the plants can break ... Good installation!
