I spent a few hours on miniatures in my youth but never switched to Warhammer style "big" miniatures ...
I painted in acrylic, it scared the purists (oils only) but it made it easier to make more varied contrasts and color ...
It's all old ...
In the world of the figure also ...

Well, half god of a 32mm figurine, it's clear that it's not heavy ...

Unlike you, I only recently fell into the figurine world (less than 2 years ago) and I admit that I find soothing relaxation there ...
Between that and TF1, I have more fun converting and painting (in acrylic) than zoning in front of lobotomized zombies.
At least, even if it's far from being at the level of the greats (like Jérémie), I feel like I'm creating something. Not to undergo a pre-machined "culture".
TV is the thing you take refuge in when you want to anesthetize yourself; figurines is the thing I take refuge in when I want to vent my head. It's not the same ... and it works. (at least for me)

I'm disappointed ...
Anyway, Lumberjack, you only recognize your ax as god, right?
So what does a half ax give?
A hatchet?
