Oh yes, I forgot.
I, who have always been under the spell of these well-tidied gardens, clean, clean, neat, regular, I have a pleasure that I did not suspect just to spill the leaves and weeds picked up quickly on hay , To plant where there is a hole, without asking me too many questions, and to enjoy sincerely the sight of the flowers planted in the middle of all these vegetables, my little corner of wild meadow sown for the occasion. (But the white clover did not take as I expected).
I do not have a lot of compost, I can not get it, I do not have enough waste (between guinea pigs, chickens and composting to the vegetable garden, nothing remains, the branches All go on a pile of wood that serves as a refuge).
We installed a hive and its swarm in the spring, in short, the metamorphosis of the garden takes place, and for a better, not only of the soil but of the biodiversity in the garden also (even if the cabbages are under insect net).
We bought a plot a few ares adjoining our garden, the idea is to make it a natural garden to chew, with mainly fruit shrubs.
And in the autumn, I will double my hay order (I will try to find a roll this time) because of the success won, we will double the area of the kitchen garden.
Thank you again for this beautiful discovery.
How to start a "Lazy Vegetable Garden" easier than permaculture: steps and advice
Re: How to start a "Lazy Potager" simpler than permaculture: steps and tips
Bees are good, but we must not forget the importance of bumble bees as far as pollination is concerned. Some flowers are not visited by the bees and I booked a large comfrey for the local bumblebees, which I highly recommend.
NB: it goes without saying that biodiversity is not limited to the sole aspect of pollination: I am content here to rebound on the introduction of a hive.

And my pictures are again crooked :-D
Very pretty garden tower
Why did you put a palette on your salads? Are not you afraid that the slugs will do it?
No matter that your pictures are wrong, they are very beautiful

No, it's just story to put relief, like the tipi for the mange-tout, or the vertical pallet for the spaghetti squash (and on the contrary, slugs love to hide under the boards of the palette therefore, the effect n Is not ideal for slug fighting (but I am considering the investment of Indian runners)
Thank you for your answers
Oh yes, and for the bumblebees, I noticed that some bushes in the garden (and some flowers on the wild prairie side) are visited only by these (and bumblebees, I see more than my bees that go Foraging much further than my little garden)

The white clover is a creeper that needs light. It "grows" well in very open, over-grazed, regularly trampled areas ... It fades as soon as the competition is organized to "go up" ... The purple clover is more upright.

Namely that the bumblebees are active when there is no sun, while the bees, which go by a "coding" based on the axis of the sun, disappear from the flowers as soon as it is gray or in the evening ...
So sometimes it depends on when you look!

Re: How to start a "Lazy Potager" simpler than permaculture: steps and tips
Hello everyone !
Phew, I finally finished reading this thread and what I get I like more and more.
The "lazy" come from everywhere, for different reasons, with different terrains and exposures, specific problems to each, questions in packs of twelve and that's great!
I'm all excited and still full of doubts (will it grow ?!) but at the same time (and paradoxically) I have complete confidence in this "method", I couldn't even explain why! that, listening to nature, it will return it to me. I am very aware that there may / will be hiccups but nothing helps: I am as excited as possible!
For me, it's a great moment! I go, this WE start to plant some seedlings (zucchini, tomatoes and mesclun) that start to feel cramped in their little pots! Which brings me to a question:
I do not know if this is the perfect time (I'm in the 04 and nocturnal frosts can still happen) that's why I decided to put them under tunnel open a few times.
What do you think ?
Cramped plants:
Thank you all!

1) This can be risky.
2) But being alive is by definition risky. It's death that does not move anymore! A living vegetable garden is risky!
3) First, think about "hardening" your plants: put them outside, in partial shade ... Otherwise, they risk getting a serious sunburn [this is not a joke]. When we raise the plants in a frame, a few days before transplanting, we remove the windows, to expose to UV rays, winds ...
3) For all the plants "not too high", in case of frost announcement, you go out in the evening and you cover. I did it with hay last year after the shock of April 21. It is going very well! Of course, the next morning, it must be removed, and possibly put back ... You can also make domes with bubble plastics, cardboard boxes, etc ...

Re: How to start a "Lazy Potager" simpler than permaculture: steps and tips
OK !!!
I had not seen that aspect!
At the same time it's been a while since it's behind my bay window with the sun that hits hard enough for a few days (they are currently at Valbonne).
This will not have been enough to "harden" them?
The problem is that I can not go cover them at night (the distance Valbonne / Digne does not allow me This is why I had thought of open tunnels: to prevent freezing while accustoming plants to the difference of T °.
At the same time, you have so much (and rightly) rehashed us about doing our own experiments, well here we are, I'm experimenting
Thank you for your quick response, with your busy schedule you still find time to answer our questions ... hat and respect
Edit: 7 smiley just for the beer !!! ... and nothing for the pastaga peuchère !!! Objection your honor !!! What are you doing for north / south equality?

Recently, I managed to place somewhere - but I do not know where - since we reduce watering, water, we can reserve it for pastis!
