We agree...

But if you don't specify, people will act like dead leaves that burn without burning. They will "roll" a tarpaulin at the end of its life, or a large plastic wrapping the household appliances or compress plastic bottles and throw them in the stove. And there, it "smokes"!

That's why I wrote "stupidly" ...

opens another subject: welding of polyethylene ... it's quite easy ... either with a real hot air torch leister ... or with a slightly modified heat gun

It is also my big fear, I was a little strong there but I think that in the end it could produce more damage than savings for the community.
To obtain the optimum balance, knowledge and rigor are required. I'm pretty sure few people can get into the practice.

It doesn't have to be a fear, it's just a certainty! Burning anything anyhow, it starts with burning green waste, in the garden, a widespread practice although prohibited. So on sorting good and bad plastics, we did not arrive ....
