Given the discussions on the BRF, I realize even more that I do not control the subject at all, so I will be stalled this year ...

Thank you for your advice and explanations on this subject.

"Moindreffor", hello neighbor :)

To find out where I am, I'm not very far from Cateau-Cambrésis, on the edge of Saint-Souplet, now you know if we are a "close neighbor".

I am really new to

I once grew cherry tomatoes and strawberries, but at least I bought buckets, I made a hole and a little water, when I thought about it. We had some strawberries and tomatoes, so that we could avoid buying them, but the pleasure of picking them up, washing and eating them, the children adored.
That's why discovering the method of Did67, I found compatible with the time I could bring to my garden and my low level of knowledge. I'm not saying that it's going to be simple, but reading the thread on the garden lazy (I still have a lot to read), the FAQ and this thread gives me valuable advice to start.

As for the mowing, the grass, I do not miss it, that's for sure, generally I only pick up the first mowing, because it is high, then I leave it on the ground, I mow every fortnight (sometimes it grows faster then this is every week), I don't practice "Mulsing".
The enlargement of the plot will suffer the same fate but I would collect a little grass to add some, because the mower tractor tends to eject in "band", I would take the time to spread all that ...

I have not yet made the choice of plantations, but I think I keep my first idea and enrich various tips, including yours.

Thank you all.

Nico.

Hello
so you should be on the side of St Martin Rivière or Ribeauville
if so, we must actually be quite close : Mrgreen:

"Moindreffor" like "you are from my corner", or rather "from a small corner", I am still an expatriate Northerner in the Aisne, I can give you the name of my small village, I am very exactly located at "La Vallée Mulâtre". Effectively quite close to Saint Martin Rivière and Ribeauville.
So much for the precise geographical situation.

Moindreffor,

So the wind turbines, actually we must see the same, from home I hear very well between Molain and at home;)

Originally I'm not from this corner, but the house corresponding to our research was there, so here we are ...
I arrived at the end of the year 2015 and I confess not to regret :)

The world is small all the same, to discuss with his neighbor, of vegetable garden, on a "forum".
Somehow it makes me feel good, I'm not the only lazy person in the area :) ahahah : Lol:

First harvests of the sloth of L'Aisne.

Here are my first crops of the garden finish on the plate.

My feedback:

* I did like many, at the beginning, I did not put a layer of hay thick enough, so it starts to break in every corner, but it's my fault. By cons for weeding, by hand, it tears itself.

* I opt for salads, radishes, white and red onions, cabbages, leeks, carrots, aromatic planes.
Well, everything is gone, I even taste some of these vegetables. Verdict: Excellent. Spicy radishes and crunchy salads.

* For the rest I do not water, at the same time the spring is hot and the storms and rains bring a lot of water in my corner. As agreed except the hay that I put in November and the plantations at the end of April I did not work in this garden.
To complete I plant shop seedlings, making holes in the hay with a dibble.

For my part I am very satisfied with my test and I would start again without hesitation, I will even enlarge and think to put a thicker layer next time.

These savings of time and labor allowed me, among other things, to read and re-read the book Did67, which allowed me to learn as a novice.
In passing thank you for this book, very well written and that taught me a lot.
Hoping to read the next one, if everything goes as planned for you.

See you soon.
