And just a quick note on the composition of the brf: lots of fruit trees, prunus, apple, walnut, fig, and a little embellishment shrub, forsycias ... and a few vine shoots but treated with iron sulphate, and one or two wooden bins, poplars it seems to me.

When, for the poplar, you say "wood": branches or trunks or sawdust ????

Oops, I was not precise enough, branches and everything less than 4 cm in diameter, otherwise it does not go through the chipper, and the same for all the crushed plants.

All of the "real" BRF so ... Perfect!

There are so many "pads" of all kinds that are sold under the term BRF that you have to add "real" in front!

I try to do the best I can at the moment, it doesn't always work, but at least I have the satisfaction of having tried. : Wink:

The garden on February 17, 2017

Small description of the garden at the time of the first plantings and following. I start from the brf hay limit, going to the left.
1st row, planted on the day of the photo: transplanting of strawberries from my old garden and that of my companion, unknown varieties, and between the stems, garlic.
Second row of garlic too.
Row 3 and 4, shallots planted on February 24.
To be continued, row 5 and 6, onions planted on March 8.
Hay side, this time starting from left to right:
Row 1, beans planted at the same time as the garlic.
Row 2, onions planted at the same time as those in the brf. The goal is to see if the onions grow better on one side or the other.
Row 3, mixed sowing of radishes, carrots and salads on 2/3 of the row on March 21. Regarding the sowing, I did it species by species, for more regularity, because I noticed that otherwise, by mixing the seeds, we often ended up with a mixture that was too irregular.

When I want to mix species in the same row (I do it systematically for the carrots, which I put with radishes; the radishes, fast, come out and provide a little shade, maintain humidity for the carrots; that " demarcates "a little naturally too, when we pull the radishes - each radish creates a gap between two carrots), I always sow one after the other, passing over the row ... Otherwise, indeed, with seeds different, it is very difficult to dose between your fingers ...

Some pictures of the garden yesterday:

On the right the row of beans, and on the left the strawberries and garlic planted in a single row.

And next, the shallots.

A priori, there does not seem to be any lack, at least for now, we have to wait for Mother Nature to face her work.

And just for your information, I forgot to specify that the corner where the hay was turned with lawn mowing on top (so on the right side) is now occupied by the potatoes, 2 rows. I actually removed the hay, put my potatoes on the ground (I also found a good dozen worms under the hay without looking) and put everything back on top. Fastest implementation solution : roll: .
