Excellent decryption. Factual. Fair.

I wonder if Carrefour does not want to play there Leclerc? You remember, the one who was green, who defended the rights of consumers, who appeared in TV shows, etc ...

[Another element of decryption: "organic" is the sector where supermarkets and hypermarkets "profit" the most at the moment! Find the mistake. The only food sector where they manage to "grow" - sometimes double digits. Not sure if it is ignorance: "Alexandre Bompard, CEO of Carrefour, has just set the agricultural sector on fire. No doubt out of ignorance.". It would be my only caveat.]

But above all incomplete! This is not surprising given the orientation of this site ...

The right to multiply and sow your own seeds is largely tainted by the legal protections of patented plants, at least in one case, but it is not insignificant, it is that of transgenic maize whose pollen comes on non-maize GMO and leads to legal proceedings on the part of Monsanto which comes to claim royalties!
More generally and to return to our vegetable varieties, the impossibility of marketing seeds not listed in the catalog constitutes a sacred limitation to their use. What is more normal than obtaining remuneration for a work provided, that varieties are protected?
But if these creations have advantages justifying these rights, why do they refuse to present themselves on an undistorted market, if not to enjoy a monopoly situation?

To my knowledge, there was only one case http://imposteurs.over-blog.com/article-17907560.html
Since then, Monsanto has "Swore, spat. In the event of (limited) contamination of their fields by transgenic plants, farmers will not be prosecuted for illegal use of seeds protected by patents." http://www.journaldelenvironnement.net/ ... anto,35091

Is Monsanto the judge of the limited nature or not of GMO contamination?

An undistorted market would be a market where so-called "peasant" seeds would be on sale in the same way as protected varieties, without it being compulsory to pay prohibitive registration fees to appear in an official catalog.

This is an area extremely monitored by the states:
https://www.economie.gouv.fr/dgccrf/con ... s-semences
A team of Italian researchers published in 2013 an analysis of 1783 studies on the safety of GM crops. Of these, 847 concerned the interaction of GM crops and the environment. The documents listed have enabled researchers to establish that the scientific research carried out so far has not detected any significant risk linked to the use of GM crops. http://www.ogm.gouv.qc.ca/sante_et_envi ... gatif.html
