The "system" has an interest in what we work to consume and that we consume to work ...
Personally, I would not put it that way, because some of the information goes through the door.
- The "system" * has an interest in working so that abstract value is produced and recovered during the sale, at this time, the goods no longer being the support of the valuation ** (it does not remains more than the use value), it becomes useless and its destruction becomes very desirable, so that through new goods the process of valuation is repeated.
* "System" is a convenient word for short, but may be misunderstood if not explained; it is however the lot of all concepts.
** The abstract value is recovered by the seller, because during the sale there is a split between abstract and concrete value (there is obviously a residual value for certain goods which are consumed slowly, but the profit has disappeared).
