Hi,
I may have a way to buy a used scooter (which works perfectly), with a 48v engine and 4 7A batteries.
A small photo will probably be more explicit: http://193.164.196.30/images/265/2656560723.jpg
It's not a bit big (heavy?) For a bike, what do you think?
Traction before for the bike, I remember
Otherwise, no one could point to the choice of an engine available in a car crash for example?
I do not really want to put 60 € in a trot that works to put it in pieces and tinkering a bike to ultimately be disappointed ..
If I can manage with recycling ..
Making an economic electric bike
The motors of these scooters are quite powerful, but you are likely to be very disappointed when you will be confronted with the difficulties of integration on a bike ... and when you have added all the "incidentals" generated, you will see that motor kits wheel available on the net at 250 € are more economical and above all are easily installed in less than a day ...
This morning again, I received an ebay offer at this price in free shipping ...

So it could be suitable to move without pedaling on flat, at a reasonable speed (25km / h seem already not too bad)?
I know it will certainly generate some fees. But I do not think so much. If I manage to recover a complete kit in state, it will be enough to adapt it, which will not be so hard that, putting the motor in the front. (according to me)
It remains a project that I would like to realize with my hands. I'm motivated enough, and this idea has not left me for quite some time.
No more fun snapping fingers (and getting out the tickets ) to have what you want, right? =)
I also remember that there will be no pedal and speed detector to be legal and standards. For the moment, I remain at a simple propulsion.

Me too I like doing things with my little hands ... But with age, I become more pragmatic (too many projects started and unfinished for lack of time = waste).
I continue to make nonstandard when the appropriate product does not exist. In this case, it's intellectual masturbation. Sorry to be abrupt, but the results will be less efficient, more expensive and longer to achieve ...
For existing kits, the pedaling sensors are very easily bypassed or disengaged, when they are not optional ...
The offer I received today by ebay was for 24V 250W full-wheel motor kits or 36V 500W for 250 € at home ...

But I have only 16ans, and I unfortunately can not afford to put this amount: /
Maybe I can have what I showed you earlier (48v engine) for a 10ène of euros. Everything is complete, and everything works.
Can it still be interesting?
Edit: By the way, I'm looking a bit on Ebay, and there are comparable scooters (about the same size) with engines 800w 36v (600 € anyway!). The seller is unable to give me the power of his engine. Is there a way that it's the same kind? In this case, I'll take everything ON!
Edit 2: I just saw exactly the same model (under another brand) 500w under 48v. I think I will not miss this one ..

For a dozen euros and a lot of free time, you can go there.
Gaining experience through practice is the best way to learn when you have 16 years old.
I myself have recovered a scooter HS to the dump but the 100W engine is too fair, moreover, it does not have a controller, just an inter on / off.
When we have 40 years, we must be more efficient because we want the result.
Still be careful, when an engine starts, it sends, does not hurt you.
Some members of forum we have already consumed a lot of plaster ...

I reissued my message too late :)
But actually, I'm not in a hurry to realize this project :)
I do not know if you saw my edit.
500w, I think it will be more than enough .. I'll see. Still to negotiate with the seller, but it will not be very hard. He has redone one to nine, I will have nothing to buy more.
It only remains "to" implant it in a bicycle.
On the axis of the engine (it is a transmission by chain), I imagine that the pinion is finer than for a chain of classic bike ..? A solution ?

Can an "economical" motorized bicycle only be electric? For example, there is the Dampf-Fahrrad steam bike:
In addition, it has mouth!

In addition to the very powerful steam whistle, there is an advantage, AMHA size, I think the risk of theft is very low ...
