It's not really what I personally have, I stated!

I said that by looking more closely at the GLOBAL energy efficiency, well the advantage of electric traction melts like snow in the sun ...

Make electricity with petroleum as it is still the case in certain countries and the efficiency of electric traction (indirect diesel therefore) is less good than that of direct diesel ...

For the "fable" of the TGV we talk about it again if I manage (or kK1 else) to find more precise figures ...

Speaking of train performance, do you know the Kitson Still? Diesel Electric steamer from the 1920s with a better output than modern diesel ...

who did the geiger survey?

From what I see "ON" takes people for imbeciles ... I have a cousin who works in Fessenheim (the oldest central in France) who is one of these "competent services" so go smoke your "H" in peace and stop spilling your gall ...
Just for information, in France, a deposit of uranium outcropping was discovered by chance a long time ago, but there were born rabbits a little deformed in the hutch located just above the vein of uranium ... so when you speak of a geological barrier, we can see that you know nothing about geology, geomorphology and you have never heard of glaciation or glacial moraines which are very numerous in the Vosges ...

Hello Jonule
> Do you support nuclear power, André?
what do you think of the leak that there has just been in France 2 days ago, it is not enough near you or well?

for me it is obvious that the heating must be done with a renewable NRJ: the WOOD.
I don't see petroleum or nuclear for that.

Don't take a sentence, read in length what I wrote
I said that currently you heat your homes with electricity which is made tidal, thermal, hydraulic, nuclear, as you want, you do not have to feel guilty for using it for an automobile ..
What I say that electrical energy is an energy easily domesticated, transformable, and which once available transmits its power with a minimum of loss.
Now the way to produce it depends on the local availability of hydraulic, wind, thermal or nuclear power, it is an often forced choice. An average house in Quebec consumes 26000kwh annually why? because the network can provide it, as well as the large dams in the north, at a cheaper price than oil or natural gas. we don't hesitate to connect a 750w heating element all night, just to keep the engine warm in winter, imagine taking charge of an electric car if it disturbs something on the network.

We do not live in the same world when it comes to water consumption and electricity ... I will not deprive myself of watering my lawn because in the desert they have no water.

The subject of the post is auto electric, not where electricity comes from.
overnight the production technology of electricity can change .. electric cars must be ready and improved it often takes 10 to 20 years to purify a system.

I think your reasoning is good, André, it's just that a nuclear car I don't find a "technological advance" ;-)

> chatam if you want we discuss it elsewhere, but I reassure you I don't smoke H it's not natural.
for the uranium deposits in France, they were all closed and condemned because polluted durably radioactively impossible to take advantage of the contaminated nature, that represents too much the shame of this technology, all the sites in France are closed they cannot even respect ISO14000 standard on environmental discharges so they do it in foreign countries (areva in Niger).
Besides, they are going to do the same in Fessenheim ashamed, the oldest and most dangerous that should have been closed and dismantled a long time ago; well, if you know, you can say how much it costs to dismantle this plant, who does it cost and who pays?

PS: if you have radioactive carrots at home, then it is not a serious matter is that the uranium rises to the surface : Lol:

The electric car is ecological, the source of energy to power it is not necessarily. But it can become so, if self-production is democratized and becomes more profitable ...

I reread the different posts, and I raise the issue of certification. It is clear that today:

4 years of research on US sites specializing in conversion of light vehicles,
200 hours of website development,
100 hours of project feasibility study,
nearly 50 letters sent to 50 suppliers,
some 50 hours of work on the drafting of the statutes, the collection of information for the declaration of the association
6 years riding electric cars (ok, the term may not be appropriate)

do not lead us to tell ourselves that the Electric Dyane, as "nuclear" as it is, is a technological advance, in 1960, perhaps it would have been talked about, today, it is considered above all as the car that "dares".

Who dares to think outside the box, whether approved or not. From the conviction of those who are behind the project, of those who adhere to the idea of achieving the same transformation on a Dyane, a mehari, a 2CV, a 106, what do I know?

Whenever we consult a forum approaching a subject such as the homologation it is systematically the same feeling which emerges from it: disappointment "No, do not do that, it is too complicated", "no, they do not accept", "it is even no need to try ". I would only say one word: DARE (Joséphine).

The stages of approval, yes we know them, no need to tell us about the risks, the containments, the formalities, and the mood of the gugus who will put their noses in the mechanics.

Our project consists in developing the car respecting the rules of the art to show that it is entirely feasible (did I forget to specify that we had already converted a 2cv from 84 in 1995?), And to homologate a car also converted surtout when you are supported by a manufacturer.

More, this manufacturer does not accompany you to DRIRE (... and champagne, where is it ??? : Cheesy: ), he must provide you an authorization to modify the engine, which is completely different.

The contacts we have in Citroën are actually interested in the project, but I won't say more. Our goal being, in the long term, that everyone can convert their 2cv and derivatives. For the moment, we are confident, but if the homologation were not to be done, our project would still succeed, except that we would not have the pleasure of demonstrating on the road (and that would be a shame).

Why a Dyane?
It is a light vehicle.
It is a cheap car: between 500 and 700 € in average condition.
Mechanical simplism, we have space to tinker.
The 2CV is a myth, a Dyane a little less, but it depends on tastes!
A simple car: no carpet, electronic gadgets ...

The car needs to be overhauled
Yes and no.
Yes: we will restore it, it will make salons it must sparkle!
No: the car will not be much heavier, it will be equipped, for the homologation, with Lithium batteries with a total weight of 100 kilos. (electric motor: 38kg). Overweight? So what ? Put 4 people in your steaming Dyane, well seated, after a good meal well watered, it means that we can no longer put anything in the trunk? The trunk will be filled with batteries, and the overweight will be around 50 kg. As for the distribution, it will be optimized.

To finish I would simply say that:
Someone who wants to go all the way finds ways,
Someone who wants to sit still makes excuses.

Hi everybody,

I saw that my last rant ended the debate, it's a shame, I would have appreciated a few remarks ...

In short, the Dyane is beautiful is well finished, and ... it rolls.

PS: with its 115kgs of batteries, it does not even flinch: look at the ride height! You will also have noticed the solar installation;)
