In Switzerland they are even found in the supermarket! Yeah, sometimes it's good to have 40 years of exposure to the rest of the world. : Mrgreen:

It depends on the areas. The slowness of Bernese people is myth (olog) ic, for example. More real, a canton granted voting rights to women in 1996 (nineteen hundred ninety-six, yes sir). The same year, they abolished the Landsgemeinde, freehand voting in the public square and passed by secret ballot. In technology, it may be another story.

to leave Switzerland and relaunch the post a bit, here is a site where you can find patterns to make your own diapers:

http://larbreabebes.free.fr/Pages/p_couches.html

otherwise, here, the children wear aprons for activities and meals, we use cloth napkins, as well as tablecloths and handkerchiefs!

Shame that the national education still requires us still boxes of tissues, what good can it do, if the kids have a tissue in their pocket every morning?

I love to embroider and the children themselves want to personalize their handkerchiefs (bought at Emmaus, it's crazy what you find there !!!).

another question for the maintenance of the diapers: which product to use for the soft cocoa of the babies?

and here is a tutorial for making the diapers in question http://users.skynet.be/Isabelle.Eyen/couchePaP/couche_odt.html

Okay here I go !

after all a week of study, a loan for the week to a colleague of 8 layers and 3 over-layers and the confusion this wee-end of 2 layers (2 being still under construction!) we are there. : Cheesy:

first try: 10 am Monday morning putting on the first washable layer (it is beautiful and soft, it's normal, I did it!)

the little one looks good. :D

11:20 am first diaper change! the little one is soaked, don't put on his clothes, well, no big deal!

13:30 pm second change, with the infant's stool, it's not funny at all as a trick! especially if in the room where we change them we just have a small hand basin to rinse off the diaper !!!! :frown:

good, for now it is at nap, 3 layers are already used, and 2 overlay (or protective pants)! there on the other hand, I'm starting to have serious doubts, especially if I have 3 to change per day, how many layers do I need to take to last 3 days? especially if the weather is gray like today?

I'm afraid that beyond all my good intension I can no longer keep up with the laundry!

I don't care (well more): it's a fact ...

We always talk about babies' diapers ok but in "mass of waste" how much does the old ones represent?

Not sure that it is not more than 50% of all layers and this figure will necessarily progress ...
