Here you have completely understood my fears: that all the ecologists are classified as decreasing integrist ... The 3 examples that you cite Elec, illustrate this perfectly!

:frown:

Moreover in the report, the voice-over says that, supposedly "sociologists" have defined the decreasing as those who want to consume less and better ...

It's not really MY definition of decay ... that is my (partial) definition of econology ...

Despite the Trailer, the 3rd example of the descending report (2 sales engineers who do the "trash" by earning 5000 € per month: what will they do with their pogon later in your opinion?) Is much closer to stingy pettiness what a less consumerist philosophy of life!

Ah, these journalists must always take the extremes ... finally given the title ...

Come on, a cowardice to let off steam: wouldn't it be a little decreasing, Delarue? I speak intellectually ... Because Prozac (at best) amphetamines or whatever, at worst, there, I doubt it is in a declining phase, Delarue ... It has me air a little speeded permanently ... In short, I can not stand ...

These zany examples above all translate the sidereal vacuum in terms of concepts in which the public swim!

The concept of "sustainable development" before being an alibi argument for anything and everything, was a well-defined concept: an ecologically responsible development (one could also say: do not take more than natural growth, do not reject non-biodegradable pollutants, do not upset ecosystems, etc ...), economically viable, reproducible on a large scale, socially acceptable ...

The definition should be repeated. But we would stop saying, writing, broadcasting whatever!

Is a model based on waste collection reproducible on a large scale? Is it economically viable? Obviously not. Can we imagine that out of the 1 customers who went to the market and the couple of bohemians with nuts who pick up the few salvageable fruits, we go to 000 customers and 500 garbage collectors ??? Obviously not ...

That said, the "extremes" make people dream (failing to get people moving; because "dreaming" can easily be an opium for the people - we forget our classics!). Nothing to see on this site, I have just crossed a thread "with the water which burns" and another on the "perpetual movement" ... So it's not Delarue, but it's not far (at the shade close, that on a forum, we don't choose each other's posts ... !!!).

PS: Christophe, don't overreact, I wasn't targeting the site; I wanted to say: this "curiosity" for the extreme exists in the public, the proof: some threads of the site "econology"; therefore, difficult to ask the media not to exploit it since they are asked to do the hearing first ...

It is creating new wealth, jobs, and this with waste.

I wouldn't want there to be any confusion between "recovering damaged fruits from the market" (which will remain marginal and is therefore a "non-model") and recycling in the industrial sense, where it is a question of re-using materials already used rather than typing in the stocks of the planet ...

Subject to also making the energy balance of this business, we are then in the middle of sustainable development: it is "ecological", it is "reproducible" (except when it is subsidized!), It is socially acceptable (after having informed people well) ...

And as long as you remember that the best recycling is first to use an object as long as possible and not to change it just for a fad (but we can clearly see that there are always more computers. design and performance, MP3s that become MP4s, etc ...) ... Because "better recycle to keep up with the fad", in terms of sustainable development, we can do better.
