Smartphones / laptops
... for some time in my corner, there is no more "gift". Operators earn on both counts, they sell the smartphone at half the new price AND win on subscriptions. Double hit.

So, I suppose we are going to go back to cartel situations where they illegally agree among themselves on prices. Consumers will toast but it is the majors who will drink the champagne!

The problem is that if they do that, the owners of laptops will keep them longer with the risk that they will become obsolete in the synchronization of data with their father ...

Mebon, the phone market is not really a good example, as the pigeon is captive ...

Compact fluorescent lamps energy saving
Now what annoys me the most are the energy-saving lamps that fart all the time in sensitive places like bathrooms or above the hobs in the kitchen ...

I was wondering about the causes:
- high humidity?
- infiltration of moisture or grease inside?
- short on and off cycles?
- too much heat?

And to wonder if by sealing all the interstices with silicone to make them absolutely airtight, could extend their service life?

Raz the bowl of compact fluorescent, I put more than halogenes which are distributed in the same formats as the old incandescence.
Anyway, what we lose in heat is as much to gain on the heating because it is especially in winter that we light the most right?

By cleaning the frosted glasses of the portholes which illuminate the corridor and the entrance, I noticed that the compact fluorescent lamps that I had installed were more than 5 years old, because I write the date of installation on the base with a permanent marker. . 8)
This habit caught me when I found that I changed my incandescent bulbs too often. : Evil:

I am on a project to replace these compact fluorescent lamps with self-built LED cards. Yesterday by taking measures to determine the size of the pcb, the halogen bulb which fitted my light fixture to burn out on a tiny shock when it has only been in place for 2 months. (lighting of our room which should hardly exceed 15 minutes of daily operation).
: Evil:

For me, everything that has a filament comes out through my eyes, ditto in a car or I struggled 2 hours Sunday to operate all the bulbs of the 106 (the rear lights are pigs that take water and s' oxidize).
: Evil:

As soon as I have found a CHEAP LED solution, all my cars will go into DEFINITIVE mounting (LEDS welded on the plates and not on the bulb base).

... well then! Yes that we agree ... : Mrgreen: : Mrgreen: : Mrgreen:

The question was to seal the lamps to extend the life ... no amateur to answer? Will I prevent the air from circulating and have a result contrary to expectations, or by avoiding a degradation of the internal components, I would have a gain in lifespan?

I note the idea of the marker, excellent!

I did what the mechanics who maintain the fleet of vehicles of the Urban Community do; I carried out with a small forest (diameter 3), a drilling under the fires for the evacuation of moisture.
The hole is of course invisible from the outside

I do not yet have enough perspective to decide, and I have only done on one of my 2 electric cars.

humidity is the calamity for power electronics, so compact fluorescents! absolute tightness is impossible to achieve if it is not designed for ... it is not a little silicone on plastics that will do the trick

the best solution is a printed circuit designed with great isolation distance wherever there is a high voltage: the opposite of miniaturization! a compact fluorescent lamp circuit designed to resist humidity should be much larger than the lamp ... or the absurdity of putting this electronics in the lamp, it would be in a separate case it would be much more reliable, and in addition we could change the tube without changing the large and reliable electronics almost eternal

while awaiting the compact fluorescent electronics too miniaturized are aberation anti ecological
