OK, I misunderstood. The display is linear and not logarithmic.

The display ok but the sensor? In other words: is the deflection of the needle linearly proportional to the power of the EM disturbance? (we will get there slowly :D)

Difficult to say, the antenna has its own characteristics in series that of the detection diode which has its own! But there is no linear / logarithmic conversion circuit so it's linear.

You just have to calibrate your editing with 3 points known to be on ... :)

:) Either way, calibration doesn't matter very much to me. The important thing is to be able to make comparative measurements, locate leaks and find a way to reduce them, so logarithmic measurements with two decimal places are secondary. : Lol: . For example, I found that a simple sheet of household aluminum when placed between the mobile phone or the door of the microwave oven causes the needle to fall almost to zero.

If interested, I can consider making demo videos. (NB I have no household aluminum to sell : Lol: )

: Shock: Isn't this doctor struck off? Or it is a self-proclaimed doctor (it exists just like the ingés ...)

Toutafé, put them directly on the EconoTV: http://www.dailymotion.com/group/econologie

I also plan to do shielding tests in part 2

Hi Maximus and Christophe,

It's normal, aluminum is a mirror, like any metal, for waves. The more a material is good conductor, the more it reflects electromagnetic waves.

For linearity, the galvanometer itself is fairly linear over its operating range, but I would suspect the diode to bring about highly non-linear behaviors ...

There should be technical data on this diode ...

Ok, I take care of it but I need a certain preparation because I don't like baclated work.

No big deal, Leo, I know what it's like to be an apprentice reporter. If you want I can help you with the editing. I begin to understand : Cheesy:

Hmm ... I have a doubt there ... thermal or electric conductor?
