German soldiers cross, with their feet in the water, the town of Neu-Ulm, in southern Bavaria, on Wednesday. Since Monday, Germany has in turn been the victim of flooding after Switzerland, Austria and the French Alps. According to German television, the floods could be more important than those of 1999.

In Neu-Ulm, nearly 900 people mobilized to build sand dikes and barriers to protect houses and streets from the waves of the Danube which overflowed in the early morning. The waters of the Isar also continue to rise. In Munich, the uprooted trees are transported by a brownish flood, a mixture of water and mud. In Mühldorf am Inn, the waters of the Inn have reached almost 8 meters.
